The name Árbakki means that we are located on the bank of the clear and beautiful river Brúará which stems from undergroun wells.
We, Magnús and Lilja are a married couple at the best of age. Our children have “left the nest” years ago. We have been living here in Árbakki since 1991 working in horticulture.
During those 20 years our favorite entertainment has been travelling with our friends in the wilderness of Iceland as we own twenty horses and three dogs.
The famous Geysir (the hot spring), Gullfoss (the “golden waterfall”) and Thingvellir (the gorgeous site of the world´s first democratic parliament) are in our vicinity. There are efficient horse breeding farms nearby like e.g. Fellskot and Kjarnholt.
Furthermore we are fortunate enough to be located where the climate in Iceland in most favorable near to beautiful and interesting riding tracks towards the highlands.
