The name Árbakki means that we are located on the bank of the clear and beautiful river Brúará which stems from undergroun wells.

During those 20 years our favorite entertainment has been travelling with our friends in the wilderness of Iceland as we own twenty horses and three dogs.

The famous Geysir (the hot spring), Gullfoss (the “golden waterfall”) and Thingvellir (the gorgeous site of the world´s first democratic parliament) are in our vicinity. There are efficient horse breeding farms nearby like e.g. Fellskot and Kjarnholt.

Furthermore we are fortunate enough to be located where the climate in Iceland in most favorable near to beautiful and interesting riding tracks towards the highlands.

Children have frequently been in our care on the farm and we have instructed them in the art of riding a horse.

Here at Árbakki there is a small guesthouse 45 square meters which is rented out. There is an abundance of hot water in the ground e.g. the large geyser on the farmland of Sydri Reykir.

Therefore we have placed two hot tubs by our house.

Ever since we moved to Årbakki im 1991 we have worked with hortidulture. Both trees and vegetables.
